For Kindergarten Ready! for Kindergarten is a nationally-recognized, quality informational training program FREE for North Idaho residents. The program informs parents and caregivers to prepare children for a happy and successful school experience by focusing on language and literacy. Each course consists of three 2-hour classes during the school year. Classes are available for parents, legal guardians, grandparents and caregivers of children 0-5 years and are being held in several communities across Kootenai County. First-time participants attend a 30-minute orientation, then take a 2-hour class with other parents of children the same age. In these fun, hands on classes led by trained facilitators, parents are encouraged to talk, laugh, sing and "play with a purpose" with their children using fun, high-quality educational tools, games, books and activities. Ready! makes learning enjoyable for the whole family. Remember: Children who start school ahead, stay ahead...year after year! Free child care is provided on site and families leave each class with a new set of free educational tools and activities to help ensure the little family member is ready for the years ahead.
